Clean and healthy environment is the right of every one. It is a fact that quality of our life depends on the quality of our environment. But in the last few decades, man has greatly damaged his environment. Environmental issues have a great concern today. At the present there are many environmental stresses such as climate change, pollution, shortage of food, environmental degradation, depletion and degradation of natural resources and renewable sources of energy, to name a few. Protecting and conserving the environment is the duty of all of us. Concerted efforts are required to find remedies for various environmental stresses. Each of us need only to be aware about such issues but also to play his duty sincerely and whole heartedly in the conservation of environment. Efforts are required at regional, national and international levels. Scientists and academicians have very significant roles in this direction. Dr. Dushyant Kumar Sharma is working as Professor of Zoology in Govt. Model Science College, Gwalior, M.P. He has been working in Department of Higher Education, Government of Madhya Pradesh since 1993. He did B.Sc. Zoology (Hons) from Hindu College, University of Delhi, Delhi and received his M.Sc. and M. Phil degrees from University of Delhi, Delhi. Dr. Sharma obtained his Ph. D degree from Dr. B.R. Ambedkar University Agra, U.P. Besides teaching, he is actively engaged in research. His main areas of interest are biochemistry, microbiology, immunology, hematology and environmental sciences. He has authored books on Biochemistry and Microbiology and edited books on Biological Diversity and Current Research in Environmental Sciences. He is a co-author of two books on Civil Services Preliminary Exams. He has contributed several research papers in various national and international journals. He is a member of Editorial Boards of Indian Journal of Scientific Research and Indian Journal of Life Sciences. Dr. Sharma is a life member of The Indian Science Congress Association and Global Academic Society of India. Dr. Raj Kumar Mahor got his undergraduate degree from Sagar University, Sagar in 1984. He received his M.Sc. degree from Govt. Model Science College, Gwalior. He obtained his Ph.D degree from Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya, Indore (M.P.). He has been working in Department of Higher Education, Government of Madhya Pradesh since 1987. Presently, he is working as Asstt. Professor of Zoology, Government Kamla Raja Girls Postgraduate (Autonomous) College, Gwalior M.P. His main areas of interest are limnology, environmental sciences, biochemistry and physiology . He has published many research papers in various national and international journals. Dr. Mahor is a member of Editorial board of Creative Discourse , an international Journal.
