About The Author

Tamoghna Saha, Ph.D. is serving as Assistant Professor-cum-Junior Scientist, Entomology at Bihar Agricultural University (BAU), Sabour, Bihar and having more than three years of experience in teaching (Undergraduate, Post-graduate), research, extension and training. He is the major advisor of one M.Sc. and Co-guided around five students in PG programme. His research currently covers survey and surveillance of key pests and diseases of major crops in Bihar, eco-friendly management of fruit flies and also released two technologies for management of insect pests. Dr. Saha is presently associated with All India Coordinated Research Project on Vegetable Cops where he is catering a very large number of entomological field trials. He received post-graduation in Entomology from University of Agricultural Sciences, Dharwad and acquired doctorate from Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswavidyalaya, Kalyani, Nadia, West Bengal. Dr. Saha has published various research papers, review articles and book chapters in various national and international journals. He is also an active member of editorial board of different national and international journals. Nithya Chandran, Ph.D., working as Scientist (Entomology) at Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi, India is having more than three years of experience in teaching (post-graduate), research, and extension. Her expertise lies on Insect Biosystematics especially on Coleoptera and Mutillidae. Dr. Nithya received postgraduation in Entomology from University of Agricultural Sciences, Dharwad. During her Ph.D. programme at ICAR-IARI on the studies on subfamily Mutillinae wherein she reviewed and catalogued all the species known from India in subfamily Mutillinae along with synonyms and revisionary details. During her studies she has established several new records from India and numerous new records within the country, has described new species, proposed several new combinations, prepared diagnostic keys for the males and females of some important genera and species. She has published various research papers, review articles and book chapters in various national and international journals. Dr. D. Prasad (b. on 20-1-1948) retired as Prof. and Head, I.A.R.I., has more that 40 years of research and teaching experience in the field of plant protection in general. He has published more than 146 research papers, 100 abstracts presented in symposia of national and international repute and 121 chapters in various books. Dr. Prasad is known for his research contributions in nematode management on groundnut and soybean and developed IPM nodule for root knot nematode on groundnut. He also worked on environmentally safe pesticides, developed and tested two new molecules and hence sent to ICAR for Patening, and received HARDF Award for 1994, fellow of Several Societies won many prestigious award of Societies and Agril. Universities. Dr. Prasad has written/ edited 21 books. He founded a Society of Plant Protection Sciences in 1992 which publishes half-yearly Journal "Annals of Plant Protection Sciences".
